About the Role:

The Trade Assistants role is to support their Managers, Supervisors, Leading Hands, and Electricians with the implementation of electrical solutions. This includes carrying out any non-electrical preventative maintenance work, manual labour including trench digging, concretingn and site clean-up work for your team, as a leader in integrated electrical solutions within sports lighting, sustainable energy, construction, and facility servicing sectors.

Within your role, you'll maintain a strong focus and adherence to all CME / Industry safety procedures, policies, HSEQ management standards and guidelines, constantly driving and holding true to the CME DNA with focus on the Core Values that align with our Vision to be the best company to work for, the best company to work with.


Job tasks and responsibilities:

• Support all site Managers, Supervisors, Leading Hands and Electricians

• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised site

• Perform assigned duties independently and efficiently 

• Operate machinery and power tools safely

• Ensure site safety is maintained and tools are kept in clean and well maintained

• Complete set tasks, including manual labour tasks, to a high standard at all times

• Adhere to CME safety practices, identifying any hazards or risks and reporting them immediately


The right person:

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• An elite can-do attitude

• A strong work ethic

• Willingness to work an ‘On Call’ roster

• Highly developed communication skills

• Demonstrated work history + 2 references


• Able to work flexible hours and willing to travel for projects

• Well presented, with high attention to detail

• A Current Police Check no older than 3 months

• A DCSI clearance

• Willing to undergo a medical and/or random drug and alcohol testing


Licences Required:

• Low Voltage Rescue and CPR certification (to be renewed annually)

• Valid South Australian Drivers Licence

• White Card

• Working with Children Clearance (WWCC)

• Working with Vulnerable People Screening

• A current National Police Clearance (to be renewed annually)


Not required but an advantage:

• Previous experience as a construction/building labourer

• Knowledge and skills in concreting applications

• Experience working within the electrical industry

• High level of technical/IT skills

• Forklift licence / high risk work licence – LF/LO

• Working at heights

• High Risk Work Licence (LF/WP)
